India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Drive Updates as of May 2025:
As of May 19, 2025, India has administered over 220.68 crore (2.2 billion) COVID-19 vaccine doses across the country. This monumental effort has been facilitated through more than 54 lakh (5.4 million) vaccination sessions, ensuring widespread coverage and accessibility .
First Doses Administered: Approximately 14.7 crore (147 million) individuals have received their first dose.
Second Doses Administered: Around 7.2 crore (72 million) individuals have completed their vaccination with the second dose.
Precautionary Doses: Booster doses have been administered to eligible populations, including healthcare workers and individuals aged 60 and above with comorbidities
CoWIN Platform: The CoWIN platform continues to play a pivotal role in managing registrations, scheduling appointments, and monitoring vaccination progress
